A group of nine volunteers from the Pacific Northwest left Redmond, Oregon on July 25, 2006 to do construction and maintenance work at Sunrise and returned to Redmond on August 6. The group started construction on a new area for the toddlers, helping build the foundation of four outside walls. Additionally, the group helped finalize and put the finishing touches on a large multi-use room. The group was on hand for a dedication ceremony for the multi-use room by several dignitaries, including the mayor of San Nicolas.
