San Nicolas, September of 2005

Dear Friends:

Hello, today I am going to try to put you up to date with what has been going on here, I want to apologize for being so behind with updates, I know I have kept you up with specifics, but I always like to tell you them in details of the daily life in the Home.

The month of May was emotional and full of surprises: On May 20th we inaugurate the Administrative and Educational Areas, we were visited by national, provincial, and local Authorities, and we include the presence of the Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires Felipe Solá and of all ours beloved friends and pastors from the city. Having all these people here made party a huge success and it was a joyful moment. From the city of Santa Fe arrived to the Home a group of brothers of the Future Vision Church and from Buenos Aires the Reverend Omar Cabrera along with his wife Alejandra accompanied us in every moment of the celebration. Also and for my surprise came Claudia Ramos from the United States, she belongs to the Church of Atlanta and is a daughter of the Home, the love she has for the children is translated in this completed project since she has been the fundamental growth of the Home, to have her as part of our team of work (next to all the groups from Atlanta, Redmond, Oregon and Vision of Future). They make us continue dreaming.

On May 25th: The kids participated with lots of happiness in festivals organized in each school.

On May 28th: The guys from RESCUE (local Christian band) organized an Asado (roast) which Ulises the leader of the Band did…it was delicious!…after diner there was a surprise…each adolescent and youth of the home received a gift a quilt and sheets…the rooms look beautiful.

On May 30th: was my birthday and I celebrated with all the staff from the home in a nice dinner in Rosario. We had a great time.

The months of June and July we receive many visits and the kids enjoyed together along with Pastor Tom, Chaplin of the Home of many recreational outings: A concer with Danilo Montero in Buenos Aires. Trips to Rosario and the so expected weekly meetings in which Tom and his family surprise all with different activities and the most important time is to share the Word of God along with them. We were visited by Jack Temple, Kelly and also came our friend Nate with his future wife; they treated all the celadoras (caretakers) of the Home with a supper.

On July 7th, the hearing aid for Raquel arrived from the USA and the 8th they were implanted them locally. This process had a huge cost but due to the sponsorship and donation of a business in San Nicolas it did not cost us penny. Raquel is happy, she is learning to recognize the sounds, how to communicate with the others, to relate objects with their names, also she is learning categories (animal, fruits etc.) little by little she is acquiring the language.

During the winter holidays we organize some outings like: movies, the circus, amusement park etc.

In the month of August we celebrate the day of the child with a special lunch at the Home and at night the Festival in the Church.

Sunday the 21st we traveled to the Future Vision Church in Capital to present the C.D. of the Home, the brothers attended us like kings; the kids that went were excellent, they behaved themselves; we shared a beautiful Sunday in family.

Some months ago a group of kids started learning to handle puppets with the wife of the Youth Pastor of our Church, the idea is to travel to some Churches in the country and to present the Home’s ministry and kids are going to be the ones doing all the work (clowns, dancing, choruses, etc.). The work of love that Gabriela did with the kids is impressive, she showed so much patience and on Saturday we had a general dress rehearsal and we our mouths dropped open to see how well the kids handle the puppets…therefore MANY THANKS GABRIELA!

OK, yesterday we started to build the daycare center for the babies; we ask for prayers so that things go well. Also pray that God send the necessary resources to finish it.
